I graduated from Muhlenberg with a little more than two weeks before the the summer classes started. We had almost three weeks in between summer classes and fall classes and now the joke that we Summer Greek Survivors tell is by asking each other "what did you do with your summer?" knowing that "your summer" means not quite three weeks.
Basically, I rested a lot (slept, watched movies, read books) and worked a lot (picked up as many extra hours as I could). It was terrific.

Earlier in the "summer" a bunch of us went to see a production of "Camelot" in the Municipal Theater in the big park in the middle of the city. It's an outdoor theater with free seating in the nosebleed section. They didn't do a particularly good job with it, but it was a very fun evening.
One night we drove to Illinois to celebrate someone's birthday at a real country "dive." It was the first authentic "country" bar expirence I had that wasn't tongue in cheek. 1/2lbs. burgers were a dollar. Drinks were cheap. There was mostly outdoor seating and live music. Crazy times.
There is a little park within close walking distance of the campus. It's simply great. There is a lake there and a walking path. The way the lake is lower in a basin area and the trees around it are high enough that if you look in the right direction you can only see water, grass, trees, and sky. It's beautiful. It made me realize how far from an ocean I am. There is something about an infinite horizon that feels very important to me, to be reminded that this world is huge and that I'm not the center of it. I brought dinner, extra drinks, and several books, and spent hours there on a Sunday and pondered why I hadn't been spending more time there before.
I played frisbee twice. Got sunburned once. Played some small soccer primarily to see just exactly how out of shape I am (the answer is "very").
