When the trees and plants on campus flowered it really was beautiful! We had some awesome weather for several weeks and it was a welcome change from winter. I've been playing frisbee every Friday for several months now! It's been great being outside and enjoying the sun!
For Easter this year my parents drove to Cleveland, picked up both of my grandparents and drove here for the weekend! We had a great time seeing some of the sights, eating out, and going to church! It was excellent getting to see them!
Then again, sometimes the weather wasn't always so nice. We ended up with some pretty chilly days that left us all wondering where Spring went. The last few weeks have actually seen a whole lot of rain AND storms. Two days ago I was playing a board game with some friends and they looked out the window and said, "oh, there's a Tornado Sky out tonight." I had no idea what they were talking about, but what I learned was that when the weather is prime for tornadoes the sky turns green. It was around dusk, but the sky was actually getting brighter and greener. I'd never seen anything like it. They opened a window so I could hear this ringing noise. We actually have a Tornado Siren. Like they have something in place so they can ring this siren whenever there's a chance of a tornado. I'd never imagined anything like it before - it felt like a WWII air raid or something. Soon after, a huge storm hit. Buckets of rain, high wind, and lightening everywhere. To the South and West of us some tornadoes actually touched down and the news reports called it "Severe Storm." To me, that label doesn't seem sufficient to describe spiraling death wind. I didn't take these pictures, but the local news channel put them up to show some of the damage. The one in the middle looks almost as green as the sky we saw:
